Best practices for using the mobile scanner app to scan

Use these tips to scan confidently while keeping your scanning sessions running smoothly.

Keep your device and app up to date

End the live session every time you finish scanning

  • When you’re done scanning for a group, tap Stop Live Scanning.

  • In the confirmation screen, tap Finish to save the session and upload it.

Important: Always select Stop Live Scanning and then Finish before you leave the live scanning screen. If you exit live scanning without completing these steps, the session will not save and those scans can’t be recovered.

Sync failed sessions as soon as you’re back on Wi-Fi

  • If you see No Internet Connection, your scans are still saved on your device.

  • Open the scanner app and tap See Log History.

  • Sessions that didn’t sync will show failed.

  • Once you have a connection, a resubmit button appears for failed sessions and becomes selectable.

  • Tap resubmit to upload the session.

Tip: A session will show failed when it hasn’t synced. The resubmit button only appears (and can only be selected) once you’re connected to Wi-Fi. If you only see failed and don’t see resubmit, you aren’t connected to Wi-Fi yet.
