For coaches and helpers using additional scanning devices
Connect another device to a coach’s active session so multiple helpers can scan participant ID cards. Each device needs Wi-Fi or cellular data to join. After joining, it can continue scanning without a connection, then reconnect to upload its scans.
On the coach’s device
Open the Scanner App and sign in.
Select your club and choose the RUN! button.
Select RUN! for the track or activity you want to record.
Select Start Live Scanning.
Select Join QR to display the session’s join code.
Keep that code visible while the additional device scans it.
On the additional device
Open the Scanner App and connect to Wi-Fi or cellular data.
Choose the option that matches your sign-in state: select Join Live Session on the login screen if you are not signed in, or Join An Ongoing Activity on the club-selection screen if you are signed in.
Use the device camera to scan the join QR code displayed on the coach’s device.
Wait for the device to join, then begin scanning participant ID cards.
Finish and sync on every device
On each device that recorded scans, select Stop.
Select Finish And Sync.
Wait for the Sync Complete! confirmation.
If a device cannot upload because it is offline, reconnect that device, open See Log History, find the Pending session, and select Resubmit. Confirm that its status changes to Uploaded.

Does a volunteer need a Marathon Kids account?
No. A volunteer can use Join Live Session from the login screen to scan the coach’s join QR code.
What is the difference between the two join options?
Join Live Session is available before signing in. Join An Ongoing Activity is available after signing in. Both connect an additional device by scanning the coach’s join QR code.
Does syncing the coach’s device upload every helper’s scans?
Each device that recorded scans must finish and sync its own session. Check every device before helpers leave.
