Marathon Kids, which has been around since 1995, is a non-profit on a mission to get kids active. We provide a free physical activity program for volunteer coaches across the U.S. to provide a fun, positive environment to help kids grow in self-confidence and endurance.

Note: Parent access is only available while the club season is active. Once a season closes, parents are no longer connected to their child’s account for that club and will not be able to view past miles or progress.
What information is on the Parent Account?

The Left-hand Menu Options
A helpful menu that lets you move quickly between different parts of your account.

In the left-hand menu, you will find:
Home - View the leaderboard and stay updated with announcements and community highlights
Resources - Access to the Resource Library
Partners - View available promotions offered by our Sponsors
Help Center - Find helpful articles and answers to common questions about your parent account and the program.
Clubs - Access each child's dashboard by clicking on the running club name

Learn how to submit miles for coach approval and celebrate your child’s progress as they unlock digital milestone stickers.
Add Miles Button
The Add Miles button allows you to submit miles completed at home to the coach to be approved.
Depending on the club type selected by the coach, you may or may not have the ability to submit miles:
| If the Add Miles button is blue, this means the coach has selected a club type that allows parents to submit at home miles for approval. |
| If the Add Miles button is gray, this means the coach has selected a club type that does not accept at home miles. |
| If the Add Miles button is not visible, this means the club's season start date has not passed yet. Once it has, the Add Miles button will appear and its status will depend on the club type selected by the coach. |
Digital Milestone Stickers
New stickers automatically unlock as your child reaches each milestone:
5 miles
10 miles
13.1 miles
20 miles
26.2 miles
The Overview Tab:
A summary of your child’s progress, showing laps, miles, rankings, and more!
In the overview tab, you can quickly see key details about your child’s progress:
Total Laps - the number of laps completed on any track.
Total Miles - the total number of miles completed.
Marathons - the total number of marathon distances that have been completed.
Ranking - there are three rankings for each participant that appear in this order:
Club Ranking
Class Ranking
Grade Level Ranking
Monthly View - shows the number of miles conquered for each month.
Days Active - the number of days of physical activity has been recorded.
Parent Submissions Tab
This lists every set of miles you've submitted from home, with the send date, activity date, miles sent, miles approved, and the status of each submission.
A submission is when a you send miles completed at home to your child's/children's coach for approval.
The submissions table is your log of everything you've sent. You can filter by date or status to quickly find what you need.
In the submissions table, you will see:
Date/Time Sent - when you sent the miles to the coach.
Date Active - when the activity happened.
Miles Sent - how many miles you submitted.
Miles Approved - how many miles the coach approved.
Status - the status of the miles.
Pending - the coach hasn't reviewed it yet.
Approved - the coach confirmed the miles you submitted.
Rejected - the coach did not accept the miles you submitted.
If a submission is rejected and you have questions, please reach out to your coach.
Parent Run Log Tab
A complete record of your child’s activity at school and at home with filters to help you find what you need.
The Run Log tab is a record of all the effort completed by your child(ren) whether it was done at home or during club time. You can use the search feature or filter by date, track/activity, and entry type to quickly narrow down your results.
In the run log, you will see:
Date Ran - the date the physical activity occurred
Session ID - time stamp of when the effort was entered or captured
Entry Type - 3 different types of entry to categorize physical activity effort.
Manual Entry - a coach manually gives credit for physical activity
Scanned - a coach scans the child's ID card for laps or minutes completed
Scanned (timed) - a coach scans the child's ID card for minutes completed during a timed session.
Submissions - parents submit miles from home
Track/Activity - the name of the track or activity
Total Miles - total miles given for that entry
Laps/Min - the number of laps completed or the total number of minutes given credit for. (20 minutes = 1 Marathon Kids mile)
Club Details Tab
A quick snapshot of the key information about your child's run club, including who leads it, when the season runs, and how the club is structured.
In the club details tab, you will see:
School/Organization - The school or organization hosting the club.
Run Club Name - The specific name of your child's run club.
Club Ambassador -The name of the coach leading your child's run club.
Season Start and End Dates - The official start and end dates for the current run club season.
Mileage Goal - The total distance your child's run club is working toward during the season.
Club Type - Indicates how your child's run club is structured. Options include In-Person, Hybrid, and Virtual.
In Person - Clubs meet at a physical location, and all activities are tracked by the coach. Parents can view their child’s progress but cannot submit miles from home.
Hybrid - Clubs meet in person, and parents can also submit miles run at home for coach approval.
Virtual - Fully online clubs where parents submit miles run at home, allowing participants to engage from anywhere.
