Marathon Kids is customizable to meet the needs of each school.
You can get kids moving throughout the school day with a variety of people on your campus and with a variety of implementation styles.
The flexible program and digital tool allow you to:
Roster your entire school with the option to invite parents to follow their child's progress and submit miles from home.
Customize your tracks and activities to track physical activity throughout the day
Utilize any type of heart-pumping activities towards mileage.
20 minutes equals 1 Marathon Kids mile.
This works great for inclement weather or if you don't have outside lap space.
Add Supporters to help you manage the data and scan ID cards.like classroom teachers and volunteers.
All supporters can scan any participant's ID card, even those who aren't assigned to their class.
Pull reports to celebrate individuals, classes, grades, and the club!
Within your season you can capture physical activity effort with all or any of the following implementation styles:
Use Marathon Kids during your PE program
Add Classroom teachers as Supporters to track brain break minutes.
During Recess.
Optional: virtually with parent submission of miles from home!
Tip: If you'd like to view the miles captured separately for each type of implementation, you need to create specific tracks and/or activities for each "program".
For example, create a track for Run Club, PE Class, Recess, and Classroom time even if the same space is used for completing laps.
You can pull a report by a track or activity to see the total miles for that "program".
Note: you do not need to create a track for Parent submissions or At Home miles. This is already being captured for you as At Home Miles when you approve parent submissions. You will see this when you pull reports.
Building Community Around Physical Activity

Add Participants
The best way to add participants for a full school program is in bulk by uploading one roster with your entire list of participants.
Sort students by their homeroom teacher
It is optional to include Parent information when you upload a roster.
This automatically invites parents to create their accounts to follow their child's progress and submit miles to the coach.
Anytime you get a new student or have a smaller number of participants it's easy to add participants to your roster by manually typing in the information.
Printing ID cards
Print multiple copies of ID cards so participants' efforts can be captured throughout the day.
ie. PE Class copy, classroom teacher copy, and the before/after school club copy.
Check out ideas for organizing and sorting ID cards.
Schedule an ID-making party so volunteers can help you get organized and save time.
